If your tenancy started on or after 20 March 2019, then your landlord must make sure your home is fit to live in from the start of your tenancy until you leave.

how to claim

1. If your landlord is refusing to carry out repairs in your home, then call Citizens Advice (0800 144 8848) for advice. 2. If you’re concerned about your safety, or worried that your landlord might try to evict you if you ask for repairs or complain about the state of your property, then call Shelter on 0808 800 4444 for urgent advice and support.
